Getting paid — the payment details block

Updated 2026-08-18

An invoice is only useful if the client knows how to pay it. facturium keeps this simple: one free-text payment field, plus a status you update yourself. Want to see how a retainer, a wholesale order, or another common scenario handles payment terms in practice? Browse example invoices and open one straight into the builder.

Fill in payment instructions

In the invoice form's Details section, the payment field (payment-text) is a free-text box (placeholder: "IBAN, PayPal, bank details…") — write whatever your client needs: bank name and account/IBAN, a PayPal or payment link, wire instructions, or a reference to include with the payment. It supports multiple lines, up to 1000 characters, so you can list more than one option. There's also a PO/reference field (po-ref) if your client needs their own purchase-order number echoed back, and separate notes and terms fields for anything else — a late-payment policy, a thank-you note, and so on.

Send the PDF yourself

Click "Download PDF" (download-pdf) once the invoice looks right in the preview. A browser page can't attach a file to an email on its own — facturium can't email the PDF for you, so download it and attach it to your own email, chat, or invoicing channel. "Print" (print-invoice) opens your browser's print dialog if you'd rather print or save as PDF that way.

Track the status

After you've saved an invoice (save-invoice), its row in the saved list (invoice-list) starts as a draft. Once you've sent it to the client, click "Mark sent" (mark-sent); once they've paid, click "Mark paid" (mark-paid). Marking an invoice sent locks its content — the numbers on a sent invoice shouldn't change after the fact. If you need to send a corrected version, duplicate it (duplicate-invoice) instead, which creates a fresh, editable draft with a new invoice number.

What facturium doesn't do

facturium doesn't process payments, send reminder emails, or reconcile bank transactions — it's an invoice generator, not a payments platform or bookkeeping tool. Marking an invoice "paid" is a note for yourself; it doesn't verify anything or move money.
